Music video, 3D-animated by London- based animator Pippa Haslam, a long-time friend and collaborator of ives. The psychedelic, neon-rich video depicts a lonely Siren luring viewers into a fantastical cave, in which she is surrounded by the ghosts of her past.

“The first rendition of ‘Lonely Tears’ was written during Auckland’s Covid lockdown in 2021 while I was caring full-time for my Mum with MS. A snapshot of a moment in time where I felt particularly isolated and alone,” says ives. Early versions of the song’s production experimented with breakbeat, 808’s and acoustic guitar, before it emerged as the bold pop track it is today. “She’s lived many lives and worn many faces.”
